It's been almost 5 years since the CR-V had its major smack-up. How are the replaced parts and paint holding up? Also, it was in another accident (not at fault)

I’ll save you some time and heavy deduction to say: terribly. We bought this and the Odyssey at the same time and the headlights on the Ody aren’t nearly as yellow as these. Love bug season also absolutely demolished it when the van was down and my mom had to daily this. The clear coat has given up and the trim is flaking away all rough-like. Oddly, the rest of the car is perfectly fine except for the faded to light gray plastic trim, but at least the rest isn’t all nasty like the front/replaced part. Anyways, we were planning on paying the necessary bills to refresh it when we can afford it and get it all fixed, but then some idiot in a Sam’s parking lot left their car in reverse and i t cruised bac kward right into the CR-V’s driver side fender. However, this means insurance will cover the repainting and replacement of the parts and because Gerber Col lision has a lifetime warranty on the parts replaced when damaged or when the car’s in another accident and the fender hit basically activated that warranty. We’re still planning on eventually buying a new Accord Sport and trading in my Accord towards it, so this means whenever I get the CR-V it’ll be looking nice and I’ll be able to keep it that way for another 5 or more years. But now it has a few accidents on its record and has like no resale value anymore so guess that means it’s time to drive it into the ground. We get it back next week, hopefully it comes back done better and will last us longer.

That's tough. At least it'll get a free repaint. Also, great color!

Whatever you do, don’t trade it in. You’ll get nothing for it with 2 accidents, even if it looks perfect. Sell it privately, or drive it forever (it should last that long)

Oh I know, the only trade-in happening would be my 2005 Accord. In the event we do that and buy a 2020 Accord Sport, the CR-V will end up being mine and I will drive that sucker until it can't anymore.

About once a month, or 1 out of 2 times I’d wash it each month. It’s only fading and  bad like this on the replaced parts.

Hmmmm. So waxing it is not preventing clear coat failure. My ‘07 Si paint looks like new. I put a coat of race glaze on it once a year. The civics of those years commonly have clear coat failure including my neighbors. O was thinkin it was the wax. Maybe not.
